Mortgage Fraud Alert System (MFASSM)
The Mortgage Fraud Alert System (MFAS) is a cooperative early alert service that is endorsed by the Mortgage Bankers Association. MFAS participants submit alerts regarding emerging patterns of alleged fraud in its early stages of development which, in turn, allow other participants to detect and take the necessary actions to minimize exposure to such schemes in their own portfolios.
MFAS is a valuable information-sharing tool for industry professionals because of its ability to quickly disseminate data. Its intent is not to identify the perpetrators of such schemes, but to promote awareness of possible new mortgage fraud schemes before they can be widely perpetrated.
To subscribe to MARI's MFAS, you will need to do the following:
- Execute the MFAS agreement and fax it to (703) 620-9587,
- Print out and review the MFAS Policies and Procedures Guide,
- Complete the contact information form so we can provide you with training.
